Most of a meeting is not worth recording
A full transcript is a record, not a note. Because no one reads it, the meeting produces an archive, not information.
The work is selection. A note should record the decision and the remaining reasons, not a proportional summary of the discussion.
The type of meeting determines what matters. For a decision meeting, you need decisions and owners. For a brainstorming session, you need the ideas that were rejected and the reasons for rejecting them. For a status meeting, you mostly need the exceptions.
The follow-up is another kind of document, sent to people who were not present. It stays short enough to read only because the writer works from the note, not the transcript.
How the agent is built in Agent Studio
The system prompt defines meeting types by the results they should produce. The agent must state which type it has decided the meeting is before it writes anything.
Prompt skills hold your note format and the vocabulary your team uses, so the notes look as if your team wrote them and project names survive transcription.
A flow provides the material. The Document Upload node accepts the recording. The Transcribe Audio node converts it. The Agent Chat node then passes the transcript and the attendee list.
Notion takes the note. A Slack node then posts a follow-up in the channel. A Linear or Jira node creates action items for the owners.
When an action item is extracted without an owner, it is sent back to the meeting organizer as a question rather than being assigned. Guessing ownership is what makes generated notes untrustworthy.
Durable sessions let the organizer correct in conversation, for example "that was only a proposal, not a decision," and regenerate the next response from that revised understanding, instead of editing by hand.
