The volume is the problem, not the availability

Regulatory bodies issue publications continuously, most of them irrelevant to any specific business. If you subscribe to all of them, you end up with a feed that no one looks at. If you subscribe to fewer, you risk missing the one that actually matters.

Relevance is a judgment based on what you actually do. A publication about a sector that you do not operate in, a data type that you do not process, or a threshold that you do not meet is not your responsibility.

Consultations and drafts should be handled separately. A suggestion is not in force. A monitoring system that presents both in the same way leads to panic or to complacency.

The agent must never tell you whether something applies to you. Your counsel makes that decision. A monitoring tool that had given that answer would be treated as if it had made that decision.

How the agent is built in Agent Studio

Relevance is based only on the business profile in prompt skills: your activities, the data categories you handle, the jurisdictions you operate in, the types of customers you serve, and the thresholds that you are above or below.

The system prompt is clear: surface what is plausibly related to the profile, quote it, and never say that anything applies, is required, or creates an obligation.

Every item must get a status: in force, adopted but not yet in force, proposed, or still under consultation. The statuses have different urgency, and a summary that hides this is no better than no summary.

A scheduled flow starts collection. The Scrappey node and the HTTP Request node read the sources you have selected. The Filter node discards anything already seen. The Agent Chat node receives the new material.

Notion compiles the digest with the quotes, source links, status, and the matched profile element. Slack then notifies the legal team.

Dismissed items are recorded rather than thrown away. Checking that record periodically is the only way to discover that the profile is too narrow.

What this agent is built from

  • Prompt skills: hold your business profile, which is the only basis for a relevance judgment.
  • System prompt: surfaces and quotes. Never states that anything applies or requires action.
  • System prompt: classifies status as in force, adopted, proposed, or consultation on every item.
  • Scrappey (Util) plus HTTP Request (Util): read your chosen regulatory sources on a schedule.
  • Agent Chat (Util): receives only material not seen before.
  • Notion (Integration): receives quotes, links, status, and the matched profile element.
  • When an ActionFlow is enough: If you want a keyword alert on named sources, build the workflow. For a narrow regulatory footprint, that is enough.
