Where referees disagree is the informative part
Reference notes are prepared by different people in different formats and then read together. Comparison becomes a memory task rather than a reading task.
Combining them into a single summary removes the only valuable signal. Two referees describing the same person differently is information. A merged paragraph that averages those descriptions is not.
An absence is itself evidence. If a referee has not mentioned a criterion, either it was not asked or it was avoided. Both possibilities are worth considering before a decision.
References mix legal weight and personal opinion, so the summary attributes every statement and never treats an opinion as a finding.
How the ActionFlow runs on the canvas
Reference notes arrive as typed notes through a Start node, or as recordings through a Document Upload node followed by a Transcribe Audio node.
An Airtable node supplies the criteria the references were supposed to cover, so the compilation is arranged by what was requested rather than by what each referee chose to say.
A Loop node walks the references. A Generate Object node extracts, for each referee and each criterion, what they said, quoted or attributed, and marks where they did not address the point.
A Merge node places the criteria in rows and the referees in columns.
Another Generate Object node looks at the grid and returns only two results: where the referees actually disagree, and the criteria that no one considered. It makes no evaluation of the candidate and no suggestion.
A Notion node creates the grid and the two lists. A Slack node notifies the hiring manager.
Retention matters here. A Date node stamps the compilation date, and your retention policy sets the retention period. The compiled notes should be deleted at the scheduled time rather than accumulating indefinitely.
Nodes this ActionFlow uses
- Document Upload (Data): takes recorded references where they exist. Transcribe Audio (AI Core) converts them.
- Airtable (Integration): supplies the criteria the references were meant to cover.
- Loop (Control): walks each reference separately so nothing is blended.
- Generate Object (AI Core): extracts attributed, quoted statements per criterion with explicit gaps.
- Merge (Control): assembles the comparison grid.
- Generate Object (AI Core): returns disagreements and unaddressed criteria only, never an assessment.
- Date (Util): stamps the compilation so your retention policy can act on it.
