Change the register without changing the promise
The same material must reach a developer, a procurement lead, and a first-time visitor. Rewriting for each is quick. The risk is drift, and drift is quiet.
A softened sentence becomes a weaker commitment. A sharpened one becomes a claim that legal never approved. Neither reads as an error. Both read as better writing, which is why they survive review.
Tone work is only safe when paired with a comparison. Not a human reread, which failed, but a mechanical diff of facts: numbers, dates, product names, and anything phrased as a commitment.
When the comparison is clean, the rewrite can publish. When it is not, the rewrite is no longer a tone question and belongs with a person.
How the ActionFlow runs on the canvas
Source text, target audience, and a description of the voice go in through Start. A Google Docs or Notion node reads it instead when the source already lives there.
A Generate Text node rewrites under an instruction that treats numbers, dates, product names, and commitment language as immutable.
A Generate Object node compares source and rewrite and returns a structured difference report: a clean flag plus an array of differences, each naming what the source said and what the rewrite says. Requesting structure instead of a written assessment lets the next node run.
An If node reads the flag. A clean rewrite continues to its destination. Anything with differences routes to a Human in the Loop node through Slack, Teams, or Email with the difference list attached so the reviewer sees the three changed facts rather than two versions of a page.
Notion or Google Docs receives the approved version, and the difference report is stored with it. Keeping the report is what lets you answer, months later, whether a commitment was reworded deliberately.
Running the comparison on a different model service than the rewrite is worth the extra cost.
Nodes this ActionFlow uses
- Start: receives source text, target audience, and voice description.
- Google Docs (Integration): reads the source in place when it already lives there. Notion fits the same slot.
- Generate Text (AI Core): rewrites with figures, names, and commitments held immutable.
- Generate Object (AI Core): returns a clean flag plus a structured list of every factual difference.
- If (Control): publishes clean rewrites and routes the rest to a person.
- Slack (Human in the Loop): delivers the difference list for a decision. Teams and Email fit the same slot.
- Notion (Integration): stores the approved version together with its difference report.
